As little as possible. A swimsuit and a towel is all that is required (we recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath your clothing when you arrive). We will provide you with all the gear you will need such as wetsuits, helmets, splash tops and shoes. If you have your own shoes that you don’t mind getting wet it is a good idea to bring them along but please make sure they are closed toe and lace up, like a runner.
What do I need to bring?
Yes…and no. We do have a select amount of helmets that have GoPro mounts, but you will need to bring the clip piece that attaches to the camera and locks into the mount. We do not recommend taking cameras as many have been swallowed by the river gods in the past! Our staff will be perched riverside to capture your memories so you can enjoy the moment.
Can I bring my GoPro or camera?
Our office is located at 440 Eden Road (between the Wells Gray Information Center and the Dairy Queen). Each trip departs from our office and returns back to our office via one of our shuttle vans.
Where do we meet?
There is no particular age but, typically ages 5 and up for Family Friendly and 10 and up for regular rafting. Because your child’s safety is our top priority, all trips are subject to the guides discretion. Many factors will influence the guides decision such as current river levels, your child’s weight and height, and how comfortable your child is in the water. Your child may be required to portage certain rapids but we do our best to minimize those portages and have your child back on the boat as quickly as possible.
How old do you need to be?
You do not need to know how to swim but it is good for the guides to know who is more confident in the water. Please let your guide know upon arrival if you are unable to swim and they will take extra care when providing the safety instructions. You will have a life jacket on at all times.
Do I need to know how to swim?
All shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels are welcome. However, if you have serious back injuries then we do not recommend whitewater rafting as there are rough roads and a lot of bouncing around that could be problematic. Please alert your guides to any pre-existing injuries or areas that are sensitive and they will advise you accordingly. At any point you can opt out if you are feeling unsafe and the staff will get you back to the base as soon as they are able.
Do I need to be physically fit?
Your safety is our top priority. As the river levels fluctuate strict guidelines are followed and dictate our rafting availability. If the water level rises past our safety points we will not run certain sections of the river and your trip may be modified. We do have a period we stay blocked until the mountain snow has melted in early to mid June (but fluctuates with each season). If a trip is cancelled by us a full refund will be provided.
Does the river ever close due to high water levels?
Although we can not promise that a flip or swim will not happen it is a rare occurrence. Our Guides take every measure to provide you with a safe yet enjoyable trip. It is important to listen to and follow your guides instruction.
Will the boat flip or I fall out?
Class 1: Calm, flat water Class 2: Gentle, splashy waves Class 3: Larger, exciting waves but easily navigable Class 4: Intense whitewater with technical navigation Class 5: Extreme, powerful rapids (not commercially rafted) Class 6: Unrunnable rapids
What does it mean when you say Class 1-4 rapids?
Yes, but we highly recommend bringing a strap to help prevent losing them. If you do not need to wear them then we suggest leaving them or wearing contact lenses.
Can I wear my Glasses?
Absolutely! We have plenty of parking for oversized vehicles.
Is there room to park my RV?
We aim to be able to offer rafting to everyone. That being said, there are some restrictions. Please let us know ahead of time and we will do everything we can to accommodate you and make you feel comfortable during your trip with us.
I have a disability or injury….Can I still Whitewater raft?
We sure do! Large groups are so much fun for us. We have scaled pricing for private functions to tour operators. Get in touch with us to get a quote and book in your group trip.
Do you give discounts to large groups?
We take bookings until we depart if there is room on the rafts. The earlier you book the better guarantee for a spot but you can always take your chances and walk in the same day!

Kayak: Fluid Fundamentals (Beginner)
This beginners course is for those who have never kayaked and want to learn the basics. Join a 3 or 5 day course and get paddling! Starting on calm, flat water, you'll progress to navigating up to Class II+ rapids with confidence. From learning essential techniques like the “Wet Exit,” “T-Rescue,” and “Eskimo Roll,” to mastering river hydrology, rescue skills, and maneuvering through currents, this course builds your skills step by step. By the end of the week, you'll have the knowledge and ability to read and run rivers, setting you up to explore Class II+ rapids and even dabble in Class III whitewater. Ages 12+Sales Pitch
Learn the skills you need to paddle the whitewater confidently. We have experienced and certified instructors and provide all the gear and equipment. All you have to bring is your sense of adventure!
Itinerary
1. Arrival and Check-in
Meet at Liquid Lifestyles office for check-in, waiver signing and discussion of expectations and requirements in the next couple of days of your Kayak experience. Don't forget to mention any injuries, health concerns, or issues.2. Day 1
Starting on calm, flat water at Dutch Lake, students are introduced and fitted into their whitewater kayaking equipment. Students then practice, in the water, getting in and out of their kayaks- called a “Wet Exit.” From there, fundamental stokes – Forward, Backward, Sweep/Draw Strokes and edging the kayak are introduced. As the morning continues students begin applying the “T-Rescue” and “Hip Flick” which leads to the “Eskimo Roll.” During the afternoon river currents are introduced. Students will discuss and learn about river hydrology and river features on a Class I section of river. An introduction of Eddie Turns and Ferries, as well as the opportunity to swim the river will follow.3. Day 2
Beginning on the river, students will start with “Wet Exits,” “T-Rescues” and fundamental strokes. Then moving onto Class I, students will focus on proper technique and gradually move into easy Class II whitewater as the day progresses. The idea is to become comfortable making difficult moves on an easy section of river. Everyone will practice a “Wet Exit” in the current and a self-rescue to shore. Different rescue techniques like “Throw Bagging” will be introduced later in the course.4. Day 3
Moving to a different section of the Clearwater River, students will continue to refine their fundamental skills. Over the course of the day more difficult maneuvers will be practiced, including linked “Eddie Turns” and “Ferries.” As skill level and comfort level increases, students will move to Class II+ and small Class III whitewater. At this point, skill repetition is vital and a great deal of time will be spent simply executing linked maneuvers on various rapid sections.5. Day 4
The focus on day four will shift from learning new strokes and paddling techniques to river running and reading. It is important by the end of the course that students are able to effectively analyze various rapids and select lines that would be suitable for them to paddle. Being able to select a desired route and execute the line will open the opportunity to apply their fundamental skills to a river running environment.6. Day 5
The fifth day is a complete collaboration of the previous week’s lessons. Students will run a different section of the Clearwater River under the tutelage of their instructor. Students will be encouraged to push their skills in a controlled environment while making river running decisions. By the conclusion of the fifth day, students will have the necessary fundamental skills to go and explore the world of whitewater and feel comfortable kayaking Class II+ and are prepared to try the odd III- rapid.7. What do people say about Liquid Lifestyles?
Danke!

We had a great time with our guide Nico! We hit some great waves in the first sections that were really amazing! After that we made a nice stop next to a stunning waterfall where we could jump into. Nico could also tell us a lot about Clearwater and its nature, animals and environment. We had a great experience!

The rafting was great, Bastien was our guide, he was informative, professional, kind and helped me up to the falls so I did not miss the opportunity to experience it. I would recommend this experience to any and everyone no matter your age, the crew went through safety and made me feel safe, the hike to the waterfall was a unexpected bonus, so glad to have made such an unforgettable experience and you can purchase pictures at a reasonable price at the end of your trip.

Excellent adventure. The rapids are breathtaking - as in, big enough that you hold your breath heading into them, but are in awe as you go through them. As an older person, who still loves a wild adventure, but probably should be a little more cautious, I'm pleased to report that I did not feel embarrassed when I turned down the uphill hike to the waterfall and instead had a wonderful conversation with the guide who had to wait with me. ( just in case I decided to head off on the raft on my own or something. ha ha) Overall, 5/5 event with my granddaughter who did this for the first time. Thanks for the wonderful adventure, Liquid Lifestyles!

Easy to find, plenty of parking even though we had a big RV, main office kept valuables locked up while we drafted, wet suits and splash jackets were great, they even have a wall of spare shoes if you need something you don't mind getting wet!The crew were amazing and had great fun personalities. We had Gareth guiding us safely down the rapids, Ava alongside in the safety kayak, and Christian snapping photos and bus driving. We had a beautiful day and the river and surrounding landscape are a must see and do activity. Don't miss it!This was my first time white water rafting, and I wanted to go back the next day!

Had an amazing time rafting the Clearwater river with the Liquid team. Lisa (our guide) was very experienced and we all enjoyed the trip, even though we had to help take the raft out and put it back into the river to miss the class 6 rapids which we didn't expect 🤣. There was also an opportunity to float down the river and jump from a rock stack which the kids really enjoyed. Highly recommend this trip.

It was our first time doing water rafting. Our guide took the time to go over all the proper procedures and the in case scenarios that may or may not happen. Very knowledgable about what was going on, very enthusiastic and it was a very exhilarating experience. Was a little apprehensive to start with, but my fears subsided and had a great time. Would definitely do it again.

Had an amazing experience. The team started with an in depth explanation of what to expect and what to do. We then proceeded to the river where there were further practices and then we set off. It was straight into the rapids and boy what fun. Just expect to get soaked especially it you are at the front. The guides, think it was Chris and Eva, were fab and at no point did you ever feel at risk. They controlled the raft expertly and were super safety conscious throughout. It was a brilliant trip

Our morning on the river was exhilarating! Our guides were supportive, encouraging, and non-judgmental.I was nervous about the first rapid, but decided to do it based on learning more on the bus ride out to our put in.We had two guides, both of whom were devoted to everyone’s enjoyment and safetyI highly recommend this company. We were never pressured or even encouraged to tip, but our team was deeply deserving.Rafting on the Clearwater River is an absolutely gorgeous experience and along the way we were informed of many of the local sites. Our raft guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared that knowledge which added to the experience. We were able to float in the water, jump off a cliff and thoroughly enjoy all this pristine river has to offer. In retrospect, our journey to Wells Gray Park would not have been complete without this adventure.

Liquid Lifestyles – River Rafting TourWow… what an adventure! My wife and I made the trip from Kelowna to Clearwater for our very first river rafting experience—and let me tell you, it blew our minds! Our guide, Gareth, was absolutely incredible. It honestly felt like rafting with an old friend who just happens to know every twist, turn, and secret of the river. The rapids? Pure adrenaline. The scenery? Absolutely breathtaking. One moment you’re floating peacefully, the next you’re powering through waves with your heart racing—and loving every second of it!If you’ve never tried anything like this, you HAVE to do it. Liquid Lifestyles doesn’t just make it safe—they make it unforgettable. These guides are the real deal: experienced, professional, and some of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. The entire crew was amazing. Honestly, I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

We were a group of ten seniors all in one raft! Liquid Lifestyles guides were informative and professional. The hike to the falls was a great addition to the experience, my only recommendation would be to make sure your runners have good grips, we all took old ones and the steep climb was harder with poor footwear. Overall we were all thrilled with the rafting, our only suggestion to make it better would be if water had been provided or assessible after the short portage.

I was looking forward to this trip for quite some time and it surpassed my expectations. My daughter Ava was our raft guide, and along with her sister and I and other friendly tourists, expertly guided us down the river. While safety for all is of utmost importance, the staff executes the day with humor, sharing interesting things about the area including local history and wildlife facts. The whole 3.5 hour experience from beginning to end was fantastic - truly a highlight for me which included a magical segue to Candle Creek Falls, an opportunity to cliff jump, and of course the excitement of rafting in class 4 rapids.I highly recommend this company - the staff truly care about giving the best experience to their guests. They’re knowledgeable, super fun and make sure that you’re not only safe, but have the best time :)Can’t wait to go back!

Had the best time. My twin sister Ava took me, my mom and a few others rafting and she was such a good guide! She is everything every guide should strive to be; funny, friendly, welcoming, accommodating, safety oriented, skilled and such a bad ass! The other guides Josh and Raegen and the photographer Cristian were amazing too. Josh was in the other boat taking a family down the river and made a huge effort to give the kids a good time. Raegan was hilarious with his jokes on the bus. Cristian was so kind and took amazing photos! Highlight of my trip. Would do again just to be around the amazing guides and their good vibes!

Ich hatte mich vorher per Mail beraten lassen und die Auskunft: “worst thing ever happened was a sprained ankle from people climbing to the waterfall in the mountains.” passt! Go ahead and book a “once in a lifetime” event!

What’s an absolutely incredible experience. We went as a family four, two children, age, 15 and 12. We had a fantastic time. The whole experience itself is well over three hours, so whilst this isn’t cheap, it’s quite good value for money., we opted for the family friendly rapids , which was excellent. My children were a bit anxious at the beginning, but they had a brilliant time. They break up the rafting with a lovely short hike up the mountains and then you jump off the rocks into a waterfall. The hike was a little steep, but well worth it. Overall, a superb thing to do if you are in the area. Staff was very friendly and clearly very experienced. Marley the dog was cute too!

We had an amazing first time white water rafting. The staff at the office were very friendly and welcoming and Ava was our amazing guide on the water. She made us feel very safe and made the trip lots of fun. We saw a bold eagle on the river, had fun in the waves, jumped of a cliff and floated in the river. A great experience and we highly recommend Liquid Lifestyles White Water Rafting.

Great ride on the river with Ava as our guide. And Dina was terrific in the office.Suggestion: Provide water at the portage—3 hours with no water when you’re paddling hard and hauling rafts is a long stretch. Maybe something like a big water bucket with spigot and paper cups so you’re not using a lot of plastic.

We did the family rafting trip as this was the only one of this kind I could find that really does some rafting (up to class 3 rapids, for the adults there was also the option of doing a class 4 rapid in the beginning) instead of just floating on the river. It was perfect!! Our 9 year old daughter loved ever second of the trip. 3 hours of pure fun. We felt save and secure the whole time while still getting just enough thrill and getting soaking wet to have an awesome time (including the optional jump though a small waterfall). Thanks a ton to the team!

Kortom top geregeld!
